Everything on this page runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the guide it quotes is already in the page.
This is one guide's mapping, and it is published for trial use. Every row here comes from the HL7 Version 2 to FHIR implementation guide and links to the page it came from, so nothing on this page is our opinion about what a field becomes. But a receiving system, a national programme or a local implementation guide may map the same field somewhere else, and where they differ theirs wins for that interface. A field with no agreed mapping says so rather than being filled in.
Answered as you type. PID-5, pid 5 and PID5 are the same question.
The guide keys these on the segment rather than on any one of its fields, so a reader of the field list alone would never see them.
The twelve segments the product's dictionary can break into fields. The others are recognised by name only - the HL7 v2 Parser lists those.
Read into this page at development time, so citing it costs your browser no request to hl7.org. Every mapping above links to its own page in that guide at the versioned address, which will still mean the same thing after the next release.
This list does not change with the answer. It is what the reference never claims, and it travels beside every mapping on purpose.
